Described and illustrated in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period; the basin is adorned with trefoil arches containing the 'Noli me tangere' scene with Christ and Mary Magdalene; also the Apostles; the basin rests on small base. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed February 2023] notes: "Su iglesia, dedicada a Santa María la Mayor, es de estilo barroco [...] En torno a 1950 se anuló y tapió una capilla más pequeña que guardaba la pila bautismal. [...] la pila es románica con 14 figuras toscas en arcos trilobulados". No entry found for Cameno in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com]. No cover present but there are a number of metal plugs in the upper rim area of the basin, remains of former anchorings of a cover.
