Described and illustrated in Bilbao (1994) and (1996) as a Gothic baptismal font of the 13th century, with Romanesque remiscences in the ornamentation; the hemispherical basin is ornamented with a large protruding human head from whose mouth stems an elegant grapevine that wraps around the bowl, left and right, the upper leaves forming wing-like shapes at the sides of the head and giving it the appearance of a cherub, a common motif on fonts all over; the underbowl is decorated with three-shaped forms, similar to those on the font at Añastro, also in Alava; the pedestal base has constructional columns and ends in a square lower volume. There are signs of damage and repair at the rim, right above the head motif, and another, unrepaired, at the opposite end, probably from metal staples of a cover. Bilbao (1994: 110) cites entries in the Catálogo Monumental de la Diócesis de Vitoria and in López de Guereñu.
