J.P. Trap's Kongeriget Danmark (1901, Del 2, Fjerde Bind, p. 643, has a 1900 photograph of the "Lime" font, and gives the location for this "Lime" as Røding herred, Viborg amt [NB: the spelling LIHME and LIME appears to alternate in early sources; there is another LIME, with a medieval church and font, in Randers amt]. This font is illustrated in De Champeaux (1972: pl. 69). Baptismal font of granite, consisting of a round almost cylindrical basin, but with a slight bulge towards the lower sies and underbowl, raised on a round-to-square lower base; the base has a roll moulding at the top, and motifs at the corners of the square lower end; the basin has a moulding just below the upper rim, a set of scenes below, and a band of acanthus vine at the lower end; the scenes include [L->R] 1)a building in which two human figures face each other, 2)a warrior fighting a long-tailed dragon with sword and shield, 3)a hunter spearing an unidentified animal with one end of his lance, while the other end, which appears to be the pointy one, pierces the back of a rampant long-horned animal to the right; the lancer is accompanied by a dog, which also appears to be attacking the unidentified animal to the left; 4)a tree [Tree of Life?] in the centre appears to be a feeding plant for two quadrupeds; the one on the left, long-horned like an antilope or ibex, is in a rampant pose to the left of the tree; another quadruped, looking more like a goat, feeds (?) on the tree on the right side; 5)a reindeer (?) stands looking left to the right of the tree in the previous scene but appears to be the prey of a mounted hunter and his large mastif coming from the right; there are no partitions or frames separating the scenes; one source has suggested the scenes may be related to the legent of Set, Adam and Eve's third child, but it may be a far-fetched interpretation given the lack of references to Set and Eve's trek to the Lost Paradise; the base has a roll moulding at the top, and motifs at the corners of the square lower end. The carving is shallow, as it is most of the granite fonts of this area and period. There is no cover present.
