Described and illustrated in Fischer (1920). In Hallbäck (1971). Noted and illustrated in Bonnier in Kristnandet... (1996: 184-185) as a tub-shaped baptismal font which the author dates to the 12th century. Illustrated in Claesson (1989: 77, fig. 13, after Fischer's drawing, 1920). Described and illustrated in Dahlberg (1998: 110ff and fig. 101 on p. 183). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920529F1] as a Johannesgruppen baptismal font made of sandstone in the mid-12th century and decorated with sixteen atches. On-site notes: the font appears to consist of two pieces: the large basin is quasi-cylindrical, slightly wider at the bottom [cf. Index entries for Hangelösa and Källby nearby, and for Canterbury St. Martin's for a related type in England]; the sides are ornamented with an arcade of sixteen arches; the entire stone surface is carved in an intricate interlace pattern imitating wicker-work; two of these are processional crosses; the squat base is a little wider than the bottom of the basin and has simulated reinforcement bands carved on the stone; there appear to be clusters of three circles on the upper rim surface at 90-degree angles.
