Scene Description: The representation is confusing because it is a quadruped, passant to the left, but it appears to have something around its neck, as well as a floating tail; it is a very long tail with the characteristic acanthus tail end; the tail goes under the animal's hind quarters forward around its neck and back again.

Scene Description: the source caption for this photograph reads: "Kestad kyrka. Funt i Fornminnesföreningens museum i Edåsa." It was taken by Ernst Fisher probably ca. 1910 while the Kestad font was on display in the then temporary museum of the Västergötlands fornminnesförening at the parish church of Edåsa -- that church would eventually revert to its liturgical function in 1938, and the contents were then moved to their oiriginal churches, or to the Västergötlands museum when the original church had disappeared
