Noted and illustrated in the entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del romanico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/cantabria_SAN_MARTÍN_DE_QUEVEDO.pdf] [accessed 28 February 2023]: Conserva en el baptisterio pila románica decorada con arcos de medio punto que apoyan en cimacios simples. En las enjutas de estos arcos hay emblemas como árbol, pájaro, martillo, hoja, etc." The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with an arcade of round arches on columns with capitals; the lower part of the columns just disappears at the bottom of the underbowl; as indicated above some of the spandrels are decorated with motifs or symbols; the basin is raised on a squat multipart stone base of cylindrical shape. not known whether original or a later addition or replacement.
