Described and illustrated in García Guinea (1979) and (1996). Noted in Múñiz López & García Alvarez-Busto (2007). The entry for this church in Oscar M. Ruiz Pérez' in Cantabria Románica [www.cantabriaromanica.com/articulos/pila-bautismal-de-san-cristóbal-del-monte] [accessed 4 March 2021] notes: "Enmarcada en las pilas bautismales en las que predomina la decoración de "arcaduras", según la clásica denominación de García Guinea, esta Pila Bautismal se sitúa en la Iglesia Parroquial de San Cristóbal, del siglo XIII, en este pequeño municipio de Valderrible. Se trata de una pila grande que apoya sobre una basa circular con fuste. La cuba está enteramente decorada con arcaduras altas de medio punto, todas ellas rematadas por una cruz dentro de un circulo de talla incisa. En mi opinión, aunque más sencilla que las de Los Carabeos o Población de Yuso, es un buen ejemplo de las pilas bautismales románicas de Valderrible." Medidas: alto con basa, 84 cm; cuba, 50cm; diámetro, 105 cm y borde (horizontal) 17 cm."
