Described and illustrated in García Guinea (1979) and (1996). Bilbao (1996) suggests this font may be from the same workshop as the font at Crespos (Burgos prov.), and the fonts at Villaescusa de Ebro [cf. Index entry for San Martin de Elines No. 2], Quintanilla de An, Ruijas and Espinosa de Bricia (Santander prov.) Baptismal font of stone and goblet shape, a roughly hemispherical basin raised on a squat round-to-square moulded base; the basin has a roll moulding at the upper rim -with damage to several spots- and has a band of saw-tooth between two rope mouldings all around; the direction of the thread on thos mouldings run on opposite directions and there is an additional thin moulding netween the upper rope and the points of the teeth. No cover present.
