Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921): medieval baptismal font of the Ossjö group made of sandstone; the front side is decorated with a triple arch: Christ in the centre accompanied by a star; to his right, the Virgin Mary and, to his right, the Apostle Peter with the key; the other sides have double arches containing a pair of saints or haloed figures per side. In Trotzig (1989). Described in Drake (2002: 148, 184) who identifies the pairs of figures on the other three sides as an Annunciation, Peter again with another Apostle, probably Paul, and a pair of angels [NB: the pair of figures are angels with wings, while the other pair are males]. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900519F2] as a 'Mörarpsgruppen' baptismal font made of sandstone in the second half of the 12th century; it gives the transcription of the inscription in the open book held by Christ, "EGO SUM ALPHA ET OMEGA", quite different from the one on the Össjö font. The north face of the basin faces the north pillar of the chancel arch, and is very close to it; the side contains a scene in two round arch-heads with a supporting column in the centre; on the left is standing figure, the halo around his head is cruciferous, therefore he can be identified as Christ; he extends his right hand in benediction to a figure on the right; this figure stands up and out of a quadrangular box-like object, and he appears to be wrapped in a shroud; is it a portrayal of the Resurrection of Lazarus? No cover present. Baptismal dish of brass in use.
