Described and illustrated in Rydbeck (1936) in her chaper on the 'Mårten stenmästare'. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900717F1] as a 'Mårtensgruppen' baptismal font made of sandstone in the second half of the 13th century; the SHM entry refers to Tynell's attibution to Mårten, and reports a basin well drain hole 10 cm in diameter. The font consists of three well-defined parts: a roughly hemispherical basin with palmettes linked in a continuous vine all around the middle; directly above and below is a rope moulding with the thread changing direction every few inches, also all around; the base is wider and roughly square, shaped by the bodies of two couchant lions with prey, facing opposite directions; the prey appears to a human head in one case, a ram or goat in the other; the square lower base is short and plain. No cover present.
