Noted and illustrated in Brunius (1850). Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921: [65] and pl. XXXI: 1): medieval baptismal font of the group that bears its name ["Borrbygruppen"], made of limestone from Gotland. Noted in Roosval (1918). Noted in Rydbeck (1936). Noted in Strömbom (1942). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900730F3] as a baptismal font made of limestone in the first half of the 13th century by Calcarius. Listed in Drake (2002: 183) as a baptismal font fom the Calcarius workshop. The cylindrical basin has a large tendril curling all around; at the upper rim, a flat moulding; at the lower, a rope moulding; the underbowl is decorated with scalloped pattern. The base is a round pedestal decorated with four protruding heads, two animal, two human; one of them biting the acanthus tendril that adorns the spaces between the heads; another band of the same motif runs all around below the heads. No font cover present. The baptismal dish is dated 1609. [NB: a second font in the church is said to be late-16th century, but we have no information on it].
