Described and illustrated by Erik Lundberg in Roosval (1917) as a font of the late 12th century consisting of two blocks of limestone ["Kolmårdsmarmor"]. Described and illustrated in the Statens Historiska Museum inventory [http://mis.historiska.se/mis/sok/fid.asp?fid=94246] [accessed 8 October 2012] as a medeval baptismal font made of limestone. Noted and illustrated in the SHM’s database Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 950519F2] as a "Starrkärrsgruppen" baptismal font made of soapstone in the late-13th century. On-site notes: basin is quatrefoil-shaped inside and out, the outer sides are vertical and decorated with a variety of vegetal motifs resembling the Tree of Life; all twelve are different; raised on a base that is a cluster of four columns carved to appear as a quatrefoil as well; no plinth.
