Scene Description: south side of the basin [orientation is approximate] -- the image here shows two partial scenes separated by the round tower in the centre of the image: on the left are the three mounted Magi; curiously the second Magus has his head turned backwards towards the third Magus, which is exactly the position seen in the Adoration of the Magi scene -- on the right part of the image here are the shepherds and, topped by a Jew hat, is Joseph, part of the Flight to Egypt scene

Scene Description: the scene consists of five figures, seen here in the centre of the image: the three Magi on foot carrying gifts to the Madonna and Child; the Child has his right hand raised in benediction; none of the figures are haloed; the first Magus kneels before the seated Madonna and Child; the second Magus has his head turned towards the third -- at the extreme left the seated figure facing left is Mary, part of the Annunciation scene -- at the extreme right the horse is part of the Departure of the Magi scene, which follows immediately to the tight

Noted in Roosval & Gardell (1944) attributing it to a 15th-century 'Knippekolonnmästaren'. Hallbäck (1969: 21-22) suggests an attribution to the Sighraf workshop, but this font looks more likely to be the product of the Calcarius workshop or influenced by it. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920430F3], without attribution [="oidentifierad - saknar paralleller"], a baptismal font made of sandstone in the first half of the 13th century. Quatrefoil shaped baptismal font mounted on four columns and four lions as feet; it is ornamented with scenes of the Childhood of Christ that are not in sequential order; starting on the northwest side of the basin and moving rightwards: Annunciation ->Adoration of the Magi -> Departure of the Magi -> Adoration of the Shepherds -> Flight to Egypt - Nativity; the underbowl has a pattern of flat ribs all around; the pedestal base is a cluster of four columns with a vertical line of dog-tooth or nail-head, and rests on four crouching animals. There is no cover present, nor does the upper rim have any evidence of anchoring hardware on it.
