On-site notes: the baptismal font is of composite make: the basin is granite and the base is sandstone(?); large hemispherical granite basin ornamented with four figures engaged in fight, arranged at 90-degree angles; the four figures are in two sets: the first set has a centaur with a shield and sword fighting an archer [which is the reverse of the arch-and-arrow wielding centaur more common in Scandinavian fonts]; the tail of the centaur becaomes a flare of foliage ornamentation; the second set has two foot soldiers with shield and sword fighting each other; lightly incised between these figures are floral motifs [Tree of life?], very faint and difficult to see; the other set of incisions is behind the archer, also very difficult to discern, a scene of Samsom fighting the lion. The stem is plain but for a moulding atop; the lower base is round-to-square and has two mouldings on the round part, the lower one turns out to be a snake body whose head rests at one of the corners of the square volume. The font has no cover now but a metal baptismal dish of the late 16th century gets placed on the stone font and is used for baptisms.
