Noted and illustrated in (2003) [http://medeltidbild.historiska.se/medeltidbild/visa/foremal.asp?objektid=920809F1] [accessed 25 June 2016], as a font in the Hegwald workshop style, late-12th century ["Hegvald, kretsen kring(?) [...] 1100-talets andra hälft"]; it identifies only general groupings: rider, figural scene, etc. On-site notes: we found the font restored to a certain extent, in that the deterioration of the stone appears to have been stopped (?), and the whole has been raised on a plinth; most of the basin has suffered from a chemical (?) decomposition of the stone that has left it pitted and scarred, with important loss of the carving; the sides of th basin are divided into round arches that contain figural or animal scenes the identification of which is much hindred by the erosion of the stone; the arches include: a horse and rider; next [L->R]: a figure on the left holds in the right hand the hand of the one on the right, raises the left hand to touch the head of the figure on the right; next [L->R] two armed figures, perhaps crowned, the first figure with shield and drawn sword, the second with sword pointed down; next two arches [L->R] totally eroded; next [L->R] an animal? quadruped?]. The underbowl follows its own squence of motifs; starting under the rider noted above: a quadruped [lion?] passant to the left; next [L->R], one such but gardant; next [L->R] a floral or foliage motiff; next [L->R] another quadruped passant to the left, also gardant; next [L->R] an ornamental motif; next [L->R] a Tree of Life [NB: the last two much re-tooled in the restoration; additionally there are several heads, too worn to be discernible as human or animal, right below the top edge of the underbowl. The base has weathered better; the usual snake (?) body that travels between the four heads in the fonts by Hegwald is here a very thin thread that form loops and interlaces on three of the sides; the fourth is occupied by a centaur; three of the heads appear to be animal, the fourth has an odd helmet-like look but it may simply be a trompe-l'oeil caused by the weathering of the stone; the lower half of the base has a roll moulding and is otherwise plain.
