There is an entry for this font in Utställningen av äldre kyrklig konst i Uppsala 1918: Katalog (1918); it identifies animals on the basin sides (bird, pair of animals with their necks bent backwards, pair of facing birds, another pair of animals, bird, winged centaur, deer; around the underbowl it notes: a plant, a lion. another plant, pair of animals one on top of the other, another such, man riding an animal, another plant; on the base are four heads; it gives a 12th-century date for it. Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Uppland (1921- , Bd. VI, hft. 2: 349-353) as a sandstone baptismal font of the late-12th century; the basin is cylindrical with tall sides and a conical underbowl, and is believed to be a central Swedish work; the basin sides, as well as those on the underbowl, are completely covered in a busy low-relief, the main structure of which are several large circles occupied by different animals (eagles, dragons...), interlace, etc. The base is cylindrical in shape and has four protruding heads (lion, ram and two other unidentified animals) on the upper half; the rest of it is plain. The same source (ibid.) gives the baptismal fonts at Bro, Järfälla and Litslena (Uppland) and the one at Ytterselö (Södermanland) as cognate fonts. Noted and illustrated in the SHM’s database Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 940829F1] as a "Mälardalsgruppen" baptismal font made of sandstone in the late-12th century. On-site notes: the font is of the same general shape and design as some of the Gotland fonts, uses some of the same Byzantios motifs and has the same Hegwaldr arches on the underbowl. An influence connection between the two areas is therefore obvious.
