Schiller (1971) mentions "Germingy-des-Prés"[sic], near Orléans" as the place. There is only one "Gémigny" [i.e., Germigny] just outside Orleans in a NW direction. "The stone relief of the font ... which has been dated to the 11th century, shows Jesus kneeling to receive baptism and John pouring water from a dish. Neither motif is found elsewhere before the 14th century and both are more common in the 15th." (Schiller, 1971, footnote 29 on p. 142). NB: the font described as 11th-century is probably the one at Germigny-des-Pres, an imitation tub-shaped cylindrical baptismal font ornamented with a Baptism of Christ scene [source: a brief description and a full image of this imitation is available at http://jfbradu2.free.fr/mosaiques/germigny/espagnol/07mobiliaro.htm]. The entry for the medieval font in Palissy [ref.: PM45001031] [www.pop.culture.gouv.fr/notice/palissy/PM45001031] [accessed 5 March 2020] is accompanied by a photograph of the object and notes: "Fonts baptismaux (cuve baptismale octogonale) [...] Taille de pierre [...] Dimensions normalisées 71 ; 90", located inside the church, "Sur le sol à l'est du bas-côté nord". Additionally a 12th-century "piscine baptismale" is listed in Palissy [ref.: PM45000284]: "Piscine pédiculée portative [...] Pierre : taillé [...] Dimensions normalisées H = 63 [...] 12e siècle [...] La taille malhabile de la pierre et les tores qui encadrent cette piscine rappellent les chapiteaux de la chapelle dite de Saint-Mummole à Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire, ce qui donnerait à penser que la piscine date de la restauration de l'église de Germigny-des-Prés faite par l'abbé Hugues au 11e siècle"; its location inside the church in the Palissy entry is given as "Absidiole principale" [https://www.pop.culture.gouv.fr/notice/palissy/PM45000284] [accessed 5 March 2020] [NB: a lavabo, perhaps?]
