Cognate Fonts: Rydaholm; Lekeryd and Växtorp No. 1 in general shape. The fonts at Rydaholm and Lyngsjö depict the martyrdom of St. Lawrence as well
Noted and illustrated in Blomqvist (1929) in his chapter on 'Huvudmästarnas efterföljare' fonts. Nordström (1984: 118) notes that "on the fonts at Vireda and Rydaholm in Småland, St. Lawrence is depicted standing, carrying the instrument of his martyrdom, the gridiron, in his hand". Inventoried and illustrated in Borg (2002) aa a 'Lekerydsgruppen' baptismal font made of sandstone between 1170 and 1220. digital image of a photograph in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910703F2] as a 'Bestiariusgruppen' baptismal font made of sandstone in the second half of the 12th century; the basin is decorated with and arcade of nine arches that inlude a human figure and eight animals. Described and illustrated in Drake (2002: 141, 142, 183 and pl. 307) as a baptismal font of the Bestiarius workshop (Group 7-Transitional); like the fonts at Lekeryd and Växtorp No. 1, it has "a ring of human heads peering out from under the overhang of the bowl" (ibid., p. 141); it is very similar to the font at Rydaholm, in the same area. No cover present.
