Noted in Hallbäck (1966). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920704F5] as a baptismal font made of three parts, the basin being sandstone and the base limestone; it remarks that the stem of the base is modern, of 1965, while the lower base, though medieval, may not have belonged to this font either; it further notes some similarities with the font at Hyssna and gives the entry in Hallbäck (1966) as reference. On-site notes: this font illustrates the legend of St. Stephen in several scenes: 1)an ornate four-leaf acanthus motif; 2)the birth of St. Stephen - he is held as an infant? [or is this a reference to something else?]; 3)he rides on a horse in the night. 4)the feast of King Herod - the cock on the table comes to life and announces "Christus natus est" [Christ is born]; 5)St. Stephen's stoning when the hand of God comes down to take his soul; 6)St. Christopher carrying the child across the water; 7)Christ child is presented to Simeon in the church? [this description replaces the child being carried in the previous panel - see written text]. The the bowl is earlier than the base - a different stone for the bowl and the base. There is no drainage hole in the bowl. The fleurdelysée motifs suggest a later date than usually assigned to this font.
