Noted in Davies (1962 and Nordström (1984). On-site notes: baptismal font made of granite with an ochre/orange hue, consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin raised ona a round-to-square base; the basin has a braided pattern all around the upper surface of the rim; on the upper sides of the basin is a curling and interlacing acanthus vine; the vine is separated from the arcade below by a thin moulding; an arcade of ten round arches covers the sides and underbowl; the arches inscribe human figures, some of which form part of scenes: e.g., the Crucifixion includes the arch with Christ on the cross, as well as the prvious arch in which Longinus holds the lance that pierces Christ's side; in another scene a devil sicks serpents on the woman in the previous arch; the arch to the left of Luxuria (?) has a man holding up an ax; is he part of the scene? the three arches to the right of the Crucifixion have human digures but the scenes of motifs could not be identified. The base has a roll moulding at the neck, as well as rope mouldings that frame the scalloped sides; the four sides of the base have: north: dragon passant -- south: plant -- east: lion passant-regardant -- west: lion passant; in the spandrels of the angles are three human heads; not clear whether the fourth angle, now blank, held a head previously. The inner well of the basin is not lined and it has a frain hole now blocked. The font is now [20 August 2010] located at the northeast corner of the nave, just west of the chancel arch; not its original position. The painted wooden cover is roughly bell-shaped and has painted sides; the lower sides have a painted inscription in German with what appears to be the text of Matthew 20:22.
