Noted and illustrated in Montelius & Brusewitz (1878). Illustrated in Hildebrand (1907). Noted and illustrated in Hallbäck (1961) as one of the Knippekolonnmästaren's 13th-century three famous works; Hallbäck (ibid.) mentions scenes with St Michael fighting the dragon, St Michael weighing the souls, a three-arch arcade in which the female figure is identified as Mary and part of the Crucifixion; on the base he notes a dragon's head with its tongue out. Nordstrom (1984: 83) notes the presence of St. Michael and the Devil on this font. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 930511F3] as a baptismal font made of soapstone in the first half of the 13th century; the SHM entry notes that Roosval & Gardell (1944) had the font attributed to a "Knippekolonnmästaren", but the SHM describes it as "oidentifierad - saknar paralleller"; the SHM identifies a Crucifixon with Longinus, St Michael fighting the dragon, St Michael weighing the souls in the presence of the devil, a number of unidentified standing figures, a lion biting a man's head, on the basin, and two lion heads on the base. The font consists of a quatrefoil-shaped basin raised on a two-part base: a four-column cluster forms the stem, and a sloping quadrangular block serves as lower base; the sides of the basin are ornamented with round arches under wich are scenes and figures: a Crucifixion with Longinus and a censing angel; St. Michael weighing the souls; St. Michael fighting the dragon; three figures in an arcade, the centre one female and crowned, the ones in the outer arches perhaps clerics. Three of the concave recesses have large heads on the upper side, two human, one a lion's, the fourth has a demi-figure angel on a capital; below, in those four spandrels, are one column and three orant figures; the irregular lower base has two prominent animal heads at two of the angles; they may both be lions, one of which appears to have prey in its mouth. No cover present.
