Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 920613F3] a baptismal font made of sandstone in the second half of the 12th century; the maker is noted as unidentified and the work itself without cognates [="Upphovsman: oidentifierad - saknar paralleller"]. On-site notes: the pictorial program read from the left to the right shows, under an arcade of six arches, the following scenes: 1)Baptism of Christ; 2)the blessing of the font in the presence of a devil tied to a pole; 3)dragon; 4)acanthus tree of life; 5)lion couchant; 6)St. George or Michael and the Dragon -- See photos for further information -- photographed only the scenes no. 2 and 3 which are unique. The basin has a centre drain hole; the underbowl is plain and badly cracked in several spots; the material looks like sandstone; two pieces, but the base looks to be a newer addition.
