Noted and illustrated in Danmarks Kirker [http://danmarkskirker.natmus.dk/uploads/tx_tcchurchsearch/Maribo_0584-0592.pdf] [accessed 24 May 2021] as a baptismal font made of Gotland sandstone by Magister Majestatis; the sides of the basin are framed in rope mouldings; the scenes contained are Majestas Domini, Annunciation to Mary, Visitation, Nativity, Annunciation to the Shepherds, Three Magi before Herod and Adoration of the Magi; the underbowl has an arcade of six round arches supported on short columns; in each arch an angel kneels at a prayer desk; the base has four stylised lion heads and palmette motifs below a knotted rope [="knudetov"]; traces of paint; outer diameter of basin 74 cm; DK quotes Mackeprang as source. The baptismal dish in use is identified as Baroque Netherlandish work from ca. 1650. On-site notes: cylindrical mounted sandstone baptismal font probably of the 12th or 13th century; the cylindrical basin has figural ornamentation on a low- to medium-relief; the scenes include a Majestas Domini in a mandorla -the signature scene of this master- as well as scenes of the Annunciation, Visitation, Joseph's dream, Nativity, Annunciation to the shepherds, the Magi before Herod and Adoration of the Magi; the underbowl has an arcade of round arches with angels in prayer; the base is a round pedestal with four protruding animal heads and plnt motifs in between the heads.
