B01: Christ - Christ in Majesty
Scene Description: Christ enthroned. This is the central scene on the font and is framed by the three-arched arch on the fourth side of the font. Christ seated, holds an open book with his left hand and raises his right hand in benediction sign. To the left of his face is a 4-pointed star. To the right of him stands an angel holding a round container with a lid. (oil for baptism?) To the left of Christ is a second figure, haloed, holding a scroll (priest?). The corner columns on the font all have faces for capitals.

B02: Apostle or saint - Apostles - St. Peter - holding 1 key and chalice - with an angel
Scene Description: To the right of the main scene, there are two figures in arches. In the first, to the left, a figure, haloed, Saint Peter holds one key in the right hand and in the left hand holds a chalice shaped container or censor? There are three floating round dots carved in background. The next arch has an angel, right hand in benediction.

Scene Description: Two arches, the one on the left, has an angel both wings showing, right hand raised and left hand holds a scroll. The figure on the right, another angel, one wing showing, holds a cross in his right hand, the left hand holds a book. A moon is carved above his wing.

Church Notes: original church probably late-12thC, dependant on the monastery of Herrevad; present church is a later building [15thC?], with three aisles, and round apse which has been converted into a the priest's office.(very strange); much modified in the 19th and 20thC.

Noted and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921) as an 'Össjögruppen' font of sandstone, somewhat similar to the font at Mörarp. Baptismal font noted and illustrated in Rydbeck (1936) in her section on the Mörarpsgruppen of fonts. Noted and illustrated in Trotzig (1989). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900506F4] as a sandstone font of the Mörarpsgruppen made in the late 12th century; this source identifies an Annunciation scene on it. On-site notes: the font is in excellent condition; it consists of two pieces, plus a modern plinth; an arcade with round arches on the sides, 3 on the south side, 2 on each of the other sides; the arches are populated with figures: a Majestas Domini, Annunciation, St Peter, Angel, etc. No cover present.
