Described and fully illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921) without attribution of master or workshop. Noted and illustrated in Rydbeck (1936) in her section on Calcarius and the Knislinge master. Noted in Nordström (1984). Ljungman (1993) describes the base figures as: man's head, woman galloping on a lion-mouthed beast and giving suck to serpents, one of which wriggles out of the beast's mouth, and is identified as the Great Harlot from Rev. 17:3-5; the other side: the beast is swallowing the harlot's head while each of her arms is devoured by a serpent; farther to the right, a king's head with a lily ornamented crown. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900806F2] as a 'Knislingegruppen' baptismal font made of sandstone in the first half of the 13th century. On-site notes: chalice-shaped font in good condition; the ornamentation in high-relief, much like the Calcarius fonts. The base is unusual in that it depicts the head of a king, that of another male and one of a feline, most likely a lion; above this feline head is a demi-figure of Luxuria with the serpents at her breasts; other serpents appear on the sides, between the heads. No cover present [cf. ImagesArea and FieldNotes for a full description of the programme on this font].
