Church Notes: church here documented 1230, but probably as early as 1217; re-built 15thC; renovated 1896
Studied and illustrated in Hans Wetzel' Ein Werk des Sighrafr in Mölln, in Fornvännen 1937(32), s.116-121 : ill. [http://kulturarvsdata.se/raa/fornvannen/html/1937_116] [accessed 10 July 2023] [NB: at the time of Wetzel's writing this base was in the städtischen Museum in Mölln]. On-site notes: the basin of this font no longer exists, only the base is now left serving as candle-holder for the large Pascal candle. The sequence of the carvings is approximately as follows: W: Dream of the Magi; SW: corner figure of bishop; S: a Magus; SE: Abraham and his souls; E: a Magus; NE: St. Peter; N: a Magus; NW: Madonna and Child. It is in a good condition. [NB: some sources describe the material of the base as sandstone, others limestone; to our naked eye it appeared to be sandstone].
