Joseph sits to the right, in profile, in Gotland chair, left arm on bed and reaches toward Mary. The right arm holds his head, haloed and radiants in halo. Above in the middle, a manger, with child, haloed,swaddled, and head to the left and the rays seem to project toward the bed.

On-side notes: the font is very worn, eroded; it has been repaired poorly: the chipped and worn pieces of stone have been cemented over; traces of colour are evident around the bowl of the font. It is a very light stone. On the basin sides: 1) W: Flight to Egypt; 2) SW: Annunciation; 3) S: Visitation; 4) SE: Nativity; 5) E: First Bath; 6) NE: Adoration of the Magi; 7) N: Dream of the Magi; 8) NW: Massacre of the Innocents. Under Visitation scene, 1st. Madonna and Child, 2nd seated figure is a monk or a bishop under Christ's First Bath, 3rd figure (left to right) could be Peter with a key or a bishop with a cross under Sleeping Magi, 4th figure is Abraham and the souls, under Flight to Egypt scene. Where there were once motifs on the sides of bases? [NB: carving very eroded; handicaps identiification]
