Noted and illustrated in Cornell (1918). In Strömbom (1942). Described amd illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Medelpad (Bd. I, hft. 2: 348-351, 358) as a "Gotlandic limestone font of the so-called 'Calcarius-type' (early 13th cent.)"; the font has a cylindrical basin ornamented with scenes of the Childhood of Christ (Adoration of the Magi, Nativity of Christ, Massacre of the Innocent) and of the Passion (Cricifixion) and Harrowing of Hell. The underbowl has scalloped pattern. The base consists of two volumes: a cylindrical pedestal with protruding heads and other carvings, and a wider lower base, also round. Listed in Drake (2002: 183) as a baptismal font from the Calcarius workshop. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900919F1] as a baptismal font made of limestone by Calcarius in the first half of the 13th century, now very weathered which makes recognition of the scenes difficult. On-site notes: although the font is badly worn, it is still possible to identify most of the scenes [cf. Inconographic area for full details]. There are two pictorial programs on this font: the Childhood of Christ and the Passion cycle. On the pedestal of the base there are four protruding heads at 90-degree angles, with images carved between them. Two of the heads are male and have short hair, clear and clean faces (later period); there are two wild boars between two of the heads; there are four heads, two human, one is beast with its tongue protruding (humans wear short-cut hair) and between these two there are two wild boars, facing left and right. Between the other two, there are faces. The wooden cover [cf. ImagesArea File.No. 0210515017] is believed to have belonged to the font and has an Agnus Dei motif on it.
