Noted in Brunius (1850). Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921: 57, fig. "a" and pl. XXIII: 1-4) as a baptismal font of southern Gotland sandstone, and remarks its similarities with the fonts at Grötlingbo and Hammenhög; Tynell describes the scenes and figures on the font, including those on the base, one of whom Tynell suggests may be Paul holding a book. Noted in Roosval (1918). Described and illustrated in Rydbeck (1936) in her section for Sighraf. Noted in Carlsson (1976) [, who confirms the Paul identification. Noted in Nordström (1984). Described in Drake (2002: 139, 151, 183) as one of Sighraf's fonts. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900728F1] as a Sigraf baptismal font made of sandstone in the last quarter of the 12th century. On-site notes: cylindrical mounted, very similar to the Eke font on Gotland; ornamented with an arcade of round arches around the basin sides containing scenes of the childhood of Christ, etc. [cf. Iconographical data, FieldNotes and Images areas for full details]; the base has four corner figures: under the Harrowing of Hell scene on the basin is the Madonna and Child, to the right of them is Abraham with the Souls; to his right, a Bishop; to the right of the Bishop, St. Peter with the Keys and, perhaps, Paul carrying a book [cf. supra]. The sides of the base, between the figures, are plain - perhaps motifs were once painted on the side. No font cover present. [NB: the font is now [1997 / 2023] located in a tight spot at the east end of the nave, between the north block of pews and the north pillar of the chancel arch, with difficult access to some of the sides]
