Noted in Brunius (1850). Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921: [56]-57 and pl. XXII: 3-4) made of sanstone from the south of Gotland. Described and illustrated in Roosval (1918). Described and illustrated in Rydbeck (1936) in her chapter in Sighraf. Noted in Nordström (1984). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900713F3] as a 'Sigraf' baptismal font made of sandstone in the last quarter of the 12th century; the SHM entry notes that this font was restored in the 1980s. On-site notes: the font is in good condition (after its restoration in the 1980s); it is similar to the font at Hannas; the base is like the Bro font base on Gotland, with four figures - and images on the sides: e.g., Agnus Dei, etc. [cf. Image section and FieldNotes for the full iconographic program]. The basin has unfinished bunches of grapes on the underside. A striking part of the programme on this font is the presence of *four* Magi in the scene of their Journey [probably their Departure, since the scene is at the end of the narrative, to the right of the Dream, and to the left of the Annunciation]; equally striking is that there are only three Magi present in the Adoration scene, each carrying a gift for the newborn; curiously the scene of the Dream of the Magi, with only three Magi present, appears to have had originally four, as the shape of the bed clearly was carved for four figures, not three, but where one would have expected a fourth head there is only a chiseled off space with traces of removed carving. It suggests that the presence of non-canonical fourth Magus was summarily dealt with at some time in the past, probably by a learned pastor or churchwarden who could not tolerate the aberration of a fourth Magus.
