Font Notes:
Noted in Cornell (1918), In Roosval (1918). Noted in Almqvist (1970) as a baptismal font by master Sighraf with date ca. 1200, originally from the old church here, now in the present church. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900528F2] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the last quarter of the 12th century by Sigraf. Cylindrical mounted sandstone baptismal font of the Romanesque period/style, a typical work of the Sighraf workshop of Gotland; the basin sides have scenes of the childhood of Christ [cf. Iconographic data area for details], now almost totally obliterated and can be read only partially. The base is a truncated-pyramid shape with four figures at the angles; there is a lower base or plinth of the same shape but much shorter. On-site notes: the font is badly worn, with a centre drain hole in the basin; the plinth is old and worn in a similar way as the base - but may not be of sandstone- and appears to have been cut to fit the size of the base.
