Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Gotland (Bd. IV, hft. 1: 141, 142) as the base of a Romanesque baptismal font by the Majestatis workshop and dated to ca. 1169 by Roosval. The upper ring has a braided rope motif from which stem four animal (lion?) heads at 90-degree angles biting a snake whose body turns into interlaces, leaves, etc., at the spaces in between the heads. On-site notes: only the base remains from the old font; it now serves as the foot of the 17th- or 18th-century font. There is a plain holy-water stoup wall-mounted on the inside the southeast doorway; probably medieval. [NB: site re-visited 26 May 2018].
