BF02: New Testament - Childhood and youth of Christ - Annunciation - Gabriel
Scene Description: The figure of Gabriel is full-frontal, haloed with a large, curly head of hair in two rows. The wing to the right of the composition appears behind him. The wing to the left of the composition folds over his right shoulder and along the body. The body is slightly s-shaped with richly draped garments. His left arm is bent to the height of his midriff and holds a short staff which could have been a fleur-de-lis. His right arm is laid across his chest and points out with the index finger towards the right to the Virgin. Both feet are visible and stand on a female head with braids.

LBH02: human figure - female - head - with braids - holding her braids - under Gabriel
Scene Description: Head of woman with braids. Big wide eyes and mouth's sides are pointing down. Hair pull back tightly and the braids are wrapped around the centre ring and continue on the two left and right scenes. The braid is thick and serpent-like. [NB: the hand holding the braid on the right appears to belong to the inverted head on the right side of the base -- it may have been the artist's intention to create such an ambiguous image]

LBS01: animal - mammal - caprinae - Ibex?
Scene Description: the two long parallel and straight pointed horns are clearly not those of a stag or a ram, the two most commonly bovids that appear on Scandinavian fonts; the animal resembles an ibex [capra pirenaica] or some other species of mountain goat-- the animal's neck is bent backward, perhaps wounded? The lower portion of the body is missing. The lower part of the base appears to have been cut.
