Noted and illustrated in Roosval (1918). In Lundberg (1937). In Fåhraeus (1974). In Stenström (1975). In Nordström (1984). In Svanberg (1995). Kroesen & Steensma (2004) write: "The font at Stenkyrka dates from the end of the twelfth century and is by an unknown master"; after a description of the scenes on the font, K&S (ibid.) add: "In 1783 the font was painted over in blue-grey hues, but in a few places traces of the original painting can still be seen." Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910427F2] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the mid-12th century by Hegvald; the SHM notes that Roosval [cf. supra] suggested that this font be attributed this font to Majestatis, who made it in the style of Hegvald [="av Majestatis som kopia efter Hegvald"]. On-site notes: the pictorial programme on the both the basin and underside moves from the left to the right; the one on the basin develops inside seven arches [cf. ImagesArea and FieldNotes for a full description of the programme]. The base has four angle heads with motifs between them. There are paint remains evident on the font [cf. supra].
