Additional Comments: Remarkable frieze by Byzantios on the exterior south wall of the church -- carving and themes identical to the ones used in the fonts of this workshop. -- On the font: Four Heads. One Beast with Tongue protruding, followed by a lion with neat hair, then a man with hair hanging out to the sides and lastly a ram. Just above the Man is a figure of the lion on the bowl. Above the neat lion is the acanthus shrub, ram is beneath a depiction of the Lamb of God with the Christian Flag (Christ), the beast is beneath the upper depiction of winged bird eating an acanthus shrub.

In Fåhraeus (1974), Roosval (1918) and Stenström (1975). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910820F1] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the second half of the 12th century by Byzantios. On-site notes: the font has a round concrete plinth added at the bottom. Evidence of anchorings, a metal bolt inserted in the side of the sphinx, but no cover present. [cf. Image section for full iconographic program].
