Hildebrand (1907) has a drawing of the font cover. In Roosval (1918). In Lundberg (1937). Källström and Askmark (1948) reproduce a 1927 Broberg drawing of this font. Nordström (1984) notes that there is a 13th-century wooden lid preserved. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910505F3] as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the mid-12th century by Hegvald; the SHM entry donfirms the presence of a drainage hole, and reports traces of paint on the font. Font and cover are illustrated in Kroesen and Steensma (2004). On-site notes: the font is severely worn and its programme difficult to read. Six Passion scenes inside the arches on the basin sides; three of them appear to be related to the Crucifixion: possibly the end of the Via Crucis, the Crucifixion of Christ, the piercing of Christ's body(?); the other three scenes could be related to the arrest of Jesus and His appearance before Pilate or the Sanhedrin [NB: reading the scene from the east side there is no squential order, but if the reading is started on the third arch (L->R) the narrative of the programme appears to be sequential . On the underbowl are five figures, some wearing arms, and one scene which resembles a Nativity. The lower base may not be the original of this font, and is totally eroded; the font stands now on a modern two-step square plinth. The old font cover is a low wooden dome with a church-like building on it, with a tall tower topped by a large dove finial; restored and painted. [cf. ImagesArea and FiledNotes for a full description of the programme on this font]. [NB: church re-visited 26 May 2018 and 4 June 2023, at which times we ascertained that the inner basin and rim measurements cannot be taken because the heavy cover is extremely fragile and appears to be on permanently, and the font not in use; there is a smaller wooden font base at the east end of the nave that is probably used with a baptismal dish on it].
